Visitors' FAQs

What is there to do in Greenock and in Inverclyde?

Inverclyde offers a wide variety of things to do. These can be found on our What’s In Inverclyde page of our website.

I am being collected by a friend or family member. Where will I meet them?

Friends and relatives of passengers can wait in the foyer of Greenock Ocean Terminal.

Are there any taxis available?

There is a taxi rank directly outside the terminal. Most taxis take card payments.

Is there wi-fi in the terminal?

Not at present.

Where can I find wi-fi?

There is free wi-fi in the libraries and many of the local cafes, bars and restaurants.

Where is the nearest train station?

Greenock Central is the nearest and easiest to reach on foot. There is a short uphill driveway to the east-bound train and stairs to the west-bound train. Wheelchair access for west-bound trains is via a longer, steeper road on Terrace Road.

Greenock West is also nearby but the route is more complex and is uphill from the terminal. Access is only by steep steps.

Does anyone speak foreign languages?

Currently, some of our volunteers speak German, French, Spanish or Italian. Check the individual ship information page to find out about availability.

Is there any long-term car parking for cruise passengers?

Unfortunately there is no provision for passengers to park cars whilst on-board.
